Start process instance
A process instance must be started based on a definition, for starting a run of an instance. There are several ways:
- via Processmanager Client. (see element 7)
- via ToDo Client (see element 12) and thereby opening window
Start of an instance
If a new instance shall be started, the following window opens:

| 1 | Here you can give any name for the instance. |
| 2 | Here you can enter an additional description for the instance, for example, a description of the instance function or other information. |
| 3 | Here you can set a planned start for the instance. This is relevant mainly for the CPM-Modul . |
| 4 | Here you can set a planned end for the instance. This is relevant mainly for the CPM-Modul . |
| 5 | Sind die gewünschten Informationen eingegeben, so kann die Instanz über diesen Button gestartet werden. |
| 6 | Über den Reiter Smartform öffnet sich die Smartform des Prozesses und es können Information eingegeben werden, die bereits ab Instanzstart von Relevanz sind. |
Voraussetzungen für einen Instanzstart
Nicht jedem Benutzer ist es gestattet eine neue Instanz zu starten, da diese nur an einem Prozess teilnehmen, diesen aber nicht aktiv starten sollen. Um einem User den Instanzstart zu genehmigen müssen die folgenden Bedingungen erfüllt sein:
- der Benutzer muss als starter in Signavio eingetragen sein, bzw. Teil der Gruppe sein die als starter eingetragen ist
- der Benutzer muss das Recht Starter besitzen
Ist dies alles erfüllt und so kann der Benutzer die entsprechende Definiton in seiner Liste sehen und Instanzen von dieser starten.
